Who we empower
The South Georgia Transitional Living Center is dedicated to empowering young adults aged 18–24 who are ready to build a foundation for independence. Our program offers the support, structure, and stability needed to achieve self-sufficiency.
We are here to help young adults who:

- Are homeless or unstably housed
- Have little to no family support
- Desire guidance as they transition into independent adulthood
These are motivated individuals who may have lacked consistent housing, life-skills training, or supportive adults, and are now seeking to navigate adulthood successfully.

Your application journey
The application process for the South Georgia Transitional Living Center is designed to be clear and supportive. Here are the main steps:
- Initial interest or referral: A young adult or a referring partner (such as DFCS, ILP, a case manager, or community organization) reaches out to express interest. This is the first step in starting a conversation about support and eligibility.
- Basic eligibility screening: We confirm that the applicant is between 18–24 years old, has aged out of foster care, is homeless or unstably housed, and is interested in working toward independence in a structured environment.
- Intake conversation: If basic eligibility is met, we schedule a conversation to learn more about the young adult’s goals, needs, and readiness for a transitional living program. This helps ensure the program will be supportive and beneficial.
- Program expectations review: Applicants are walked through program expectations, including participation in case management, life-skills training, employment or education planning, and a structured living environment.
