Make a difference today

Your support helps young adults build stable futures. Discover how your contributions can transform lives at the South Georgia Transitional Living Center.

Why your donation matters

Donating to the South Georgia Transitional Living Center directly helps young adults who are aging out of foster care or experiencing homelessness at a very critical time in their lives. Many of the youth we serve are trying to become independent with little support, and donations allow us to provide stability and guidance when they need it most.

Direct impact

Every contribution helps cover basic needs like housing, transportation, food, and life-skills support.

Focus on the future

Donations give young adults the chance to focus on work, school, and their future instead of just surviving day to day.

Path to independence

Your support helps turn uncertainty into opportunity and gives these young adults a real path toward independence.

Other ways to contribute

Beyond monetary gifts, your in-kind donations and volunteer efforts make a significant difference to our residents.

In-kind donations

Donating essential items helps meet everyday needs for residents who may be starting with very little. Helpful items include:

  • Household essentials: bedding, towels, cleaning supplies, small kitchen appliances, dishes, and cookware.
  • Personal care items: hygiene products, laundry soap, and toiletries.
  • Clothing & shoes: new or gently used items appropriate for work, school, or everyday wear.
  • School & work supplies: backpacks, notebooks, calculators, office supplies, interview attire, or laptops (when available).

Time and skills

Volunteering time and expertise can be just as impactful as financial support. Examples include:

  • Mentoring or life-skills coaching (budgeting, job readiness, time management).
  • Tutoring or academic support.
  • Resume building, mock interviews, or career guidance.
